Sweet Bonanza vs Sugar Rush: how Pragmatic Play’s two candy slot families differ, across 10 official game pages

Short answer — Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza and Sugar Rush slots look alike, but they handle multipliers in opposite ways. In Sweet Bonanza games, multiplier symbols fall onto the grid during free spins and their values are added together, up to 100x per symbol (1,000x in Sweet Bonanza 1000). In Sugar Rush games, a winning position is marked, and every repeat win on that spot doubles its multiplier, up to 128x (1,024x in Sugar Rush 1000 and Super Scatter). Across the 10 official pages we checked on 19 October 2026, RTPs run from 96.00% to 96.58%. On ₱10,000 of total bets, that is an expected long-run cost of ₱342 to ₱400, by our calculation.

If you already like one of these games and wonder whether a sister title is worth trying, the important differences are the multiplier mechanic, the RTP of the exact version, and whether the page states a maximum win. This guide sets those out side by side.

*Expected cost = (100% − RTP) × ₱10,000. This is our calculation of a long-run average across a very large number of spins. It is not what a single session will cost. RTPs, mechanics and caps come from each linked pragmaticplay.com page, under “Basic Game Info” and the game description.

The real difference: added multipliers vs doubling spots

Sweet Bonanza: multipliers fall and add up

In Sweet Bonanza, 4–6 scatters trigger 10 free spins. During the feature, multiplier symbols worth 2x–100x can land, and at the end of a tumbling sequence “the values of all multiplier symbols add together”. Two multipliers of 10x and 25x on one sequence give 35x, not 250x. Sweet Bonanza 1000 keeps the same idea with “candy bomb” multipliers of “up to 1,000x” and a stated top win of 25,000x.

Sugar Rush: spots are marked and multipliers double

In Sugar Rush, each winning cluster marks its grid positions. When another win lands on a marked spot during the same spin, a multiplier is added, “starting at 2x and doubling each time a symbol hits up to 128x”. The sequence runs 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, so a spot needs seven repeat hits to reach the cap. In free spins, marked spots and multipliers stay for the whole round. Sugar Rush 1000 and Sugar Rush Super Scatter extend the doubling to 1,024x.

Super Scatter versions add instant prizes

Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter pays an instant 100x, 500x, 5,000x or 50,000x when the bonus is triggered with one, two, three or four Super Scatters. Sugar Rush Super Scatter also lists an instant win “up to 50,000x” when at least one Super Scatter helps trigger the feature. These are the only pages in the group that state a 50,000x figure.

Two games that do not fit either family

Sweet Rush Bonanza uses Sugar Rush’s doubling spots, up to 128x, on a pay-anywhere grid where 8–12+ symbols pay, and adds three ante-bet and two bonus-buy options. Sweet PowerNudge is a different design: winning reels nudge down, and multipliers sit on reel five. Its RTP of 96.08% is the second lowest in the group.

What the RTP gap means in pesos

The spread between the highest and lowest RTP here is 0.58 percentage points. On ₱10,000 of total bets, Sugar Rush Super Scatter (96.58%) has an expected cost of ₱342, against ₱400 for Sugar Rush 1000 (96.00%), a difference of ₱58, by our calculation. Within a single session the result is dominated by variance, especially in games with 1,000x+ multipliers, so this difference only shows up over a very large volume of play. Also note that the RTP an operator runs can differ from the provider’s headline figure. Check the RTP shown in the game’s own information screen at your platform.

How to choose between them

  1. Decide which multiplier style you prefer: falling multipliers that add (Sweet Bonanza) or spots that build up by doubling (Sugar Rush).
  2. Check the exact version. “1000” and “Super Scatter” versions have much higher caps and, in Sugar Rush 1000’s case, a lower RTP.
  3. Confirm the RTP in the game’s information screen before you play. If it differs from the table, the in-game figure applies.
  4. Set your stake from your budget. Higher caps make results swing more widely, not more favourably.

Before you play

Online gaming in the Philippines is for adults only, so check the age rule and your platform’s licence. Set a budget and a time limit before you start. RTP describes a long-run average, not what you will get back in one session.
